Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 7 years as a procurement assistant

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a procurement assistant. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
