Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 5 years as an event coordinator

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. There are 5 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
