Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 18 years as an administrative assistant

Three companies in Fresno cut staff in the same month. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
