Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 18 years as a dental hygienist

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a dental hygienist. It has been weighing on me all week. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
