Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 17 years as a bookkeeper

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a bookkeeper. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
