Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 16 years as a welding apprentice

Our sector has been shrinking and I am unsure if I should wait it out. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. How did you choose?

A short certificate helped me more than a new degree would have. Check what local colleges offer.
