Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 15 years as a mechanic

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a mechanic. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
