Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 14 years as a security officer

Three companies in Sacramento cut staff in the same month. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. Which areas are hiring?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
