Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 12 years as a procurement assistant

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a procurement assistant. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Which areas are hiring?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Talk to people in the field you are considering. Two coffee chats changed my mind about one option.
