Industry layoffs, what are people doing? after 12 years as a paralegal

Three companies in Sacramento cut staff in the same month. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
