Industry layoffs, what are people doing?

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a school bus driver. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The postings I see are fewer and ask for more. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
