Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - 9 months and counting

Three companies in Sacramento cut staff in the same month. It has been a long 4 weeks. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. How did you choose?

I moved into operations work. The skills carried over and there were more openings than in my old field.
