Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - 7 months and counting

Three companies in Portland cut staff in the same month. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am open to a pay cut if the field is stable. How did you choose?

Look at job postings to see which skills repeat, then fill the gap. That gave me a direction.
