Industry layoffs, what are people doing? - 5 weeks in

Many of the people I know in my field were laid off this year, including me as a data-entry clerk. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have transferable skills but no direct experience elsewhere. Who has switched fields?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
