How do you keep going after 5 rejections? after 5 years as a retail manager

After a layoff as a retail manager I am finding mornings difficult. Any experience at all would help. I keep comparing myself with friends who are working. What helps you on bad days?

Many counselling centres have sliding-scale rates. I found one through 211, and it made a difference.
