How do I tell my family about the layoff? - what worked for you?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a delivery driver. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
