How do I tell my family about the layoff? - what worked for you?

I was laid off 10 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. Thank you in advance. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. How did you handle it?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
