How do I tell my family about the layoff? - what worked for you?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an event coordinator. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
