How do I tell my family about the layoff? - what worked for you?

I was laid off 25 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. Thank you in advance. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
