How do I tell my family about the layoff? - what worked for you?

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
