How do I tell my family about the layoff? (update)

I was laid off 15 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. Thank you in advance. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
