How do I tell my family about the layoff? (update)

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a call-centre agent. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I want a plan before I speak.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
