How do I tell my family about the layoff? (Little Rock)

I was laid off 11 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I want a plan before I speak. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
