How do I tell my family about the layoff? - first time posting

I was laid off 16 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. It has been a long 16 weeks. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
