How do I tell my family about the layoff? - first time posting

I was laid off 11 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. Thank you in advance. I want a plan before I speak. How did you handle it?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
