How do I tell my family about the layoff? - first time posting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an HR coordinator. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. Did it get easier afterwards?

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
