How do I tell my family about the layoff? - first time posting

I was laid off 8 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
