How do I tell my family about the layoff? (Austin)

I was laid off 6 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Kids often pick up more than you think. A short, calm explanation helped mine feel secure.
