How do I tell my family about the layoff? - any advice?

I was laid off 7 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. It has been weighing on me all week. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
