How do I tell my family about the layoff? - any advice?

I was laid off 20 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
