How do I tell my family about the layoff? - any advice?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a retail manager. It has been weighing on me all week. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
