How do I tell my family about the layoff? - any advice?

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Kids often pick up more than you think. A short, calm explanation helped mine feel secure.
