How do I tell my family about the layoff? - any advice?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a machine operator. There are 13 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
