How do I tell my family about the layoff? after 6 years as a janitorial supervisor

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a janitorial supervisor. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I want a plan before I speak. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
