How do I tell my family about the layoff? after 3 years as a school bus driver

I was laid off 15 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. Any experience at all would help. I want a plan before I speak. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
