How do I tell my family about the layoff? after 3 years as a medical assistant

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a medical assistant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
