How do I tell my family about the layoff? after 10 years as a pharmacy technician

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a pharmacy technician. It has been a long 25 weeks. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
