How do I tell my family about the layoff?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a nurse's aide. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
