How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 8 weeks in

I was laid off 8 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
