How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 7 months and counting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an HR coordinator. I worked as an HR coordinator before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
