How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 5 months and counting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a recruiter. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
