How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 3 months and counting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a store manager. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. How did you handle it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
