How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 24 weeks in

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a home health aide. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
