How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 24 weeks in

I was laid off 24 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I worked as a home health aide before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
