How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 12 months and counting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a teaching assistant. Any experience at all would help. Bills are coming up and I cannot keep this quiet. Did it get easier afterwards?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
