How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 11 weeks in

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
