How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 11 weeks in

I was laid off 11 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. It has been a long 11 weeks. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
