How do I tell my family about the layoff? - 10 weeks in

I was laid off 10 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I want a plan before I speak.

I told my partner the same evening with a simple plan: what happened, what I was doing and what I needed. It was a relief.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
