How do I explain a layoff in interviews?, retail manager here

Zuri Sandoval · 2026-09-02T13:19:21.840Z

I have an interview next week and I am unsure how to explain why I left my last job as a retail manager. I do not want to blame the company. Do you mention numbers?

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.
