How do I explain a layoff in interviews? - any advice?

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have been practising in the mirror. What do you say?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
